Large vase thrown in 2 parts on the wheel. Celadon and Blue Rutile glazes. I really like how the rutile created the cloud-like band. It's very runny/drippy and unpredictable.

Next to a 5 inch tall coffee mug for scale.

Thanks for looking

Oooh, so pretty. O,o

Y'know, with the blue-white stripe and the little flecks of blue above it, it's like cold fire or something. =D

Be cool to see some tall lilies or something in it, or, like, paper flowers. Whacha gonna use it for, besides getting internet-praise? ;)

heh thanx :)

Not sure what I'll use it for. Probably will give it away just like most of the rest :)

Give it away... I dunno, now might be a good time to sell that sorta stuff, if you can find a buyer. Then again, I'm sure the recipients are pretty thankful to not pay anything. =D Pays to have an artist for a friend, hehe.

I'd love to sell them at some point. Just need to get better first :) What can I say, I'm a perfectionist (when I'm not slacking of course) haha

Pfft, they all look fine, what are you talking about?

I know the feeling, though. XD

You got some weird crazing in that celadon. Did you just open the kiln too early? Or is that part of the glaze?

I LOVE that rutile! Beautiful effect! I'd love to see you use it on a few other pieces! Recipe?

For some reason our celadon tends to do that. I'm not sure if it's the recipe or what. The celadon is in a 50 gallon bucket so it does easily get tainted, maybe that's it. I do put it on rather thick though (a long dip in a completely dry/unwashed pot). And wherever the blue rutile was put over celadon it turns sort of brown (I dipped it about halfway down, and again 1/4 the way down). But really close up there's a bunch of tiny light blue specks!

Sure thing I'll get you that recipe soon. Possibly Saturday, if not Tues. :)

I've used it on a few of my pitchers in the gallery. One of my favorite glazing combos is celadon with the top dipped in the blue rutile :D I've got an altered wheel-thrown pitcher that's just been bisqued, can't wait to throw some glazes on that one!
